Fiona Black

From the Highland village of Evanton, Fiona Black is a musician, artist, researcher, writer, history geek and lover of stories. She developed a love of music and dance from a young age, and Feis Rois provided her with the opportunity to nurture this passion. She attended the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music and later the University of Limerick, Cape Breton University, and the University of the Highlands and Islands. Fiona is a founding member of the award-winning band The Outside Track and has toured extensively worldwide over the past decade. She has also worked with Irish concertina player Caroline Keane, Scottish Borders singer and fiddler Lori Watson, and Scottish Highlands and Islands band Beira.
Fiona has returned to living and creating in the Highlands and creates various works inspired by the area's landscape, history, and culture.
