Slightly Faster Tunes with Louise Douglas


This is a slightly-faster paced class for adult learners and those looking to build confidence in playing together. Tunes are taught by ear and by notation. We welcome everyone to come early for a cuppa, between 11.30am - 12pm.

Louise Douglas

Louise, from Nigg in Easter Ross, was taught by three of Scotland's most respected and treasured Tradition bearers -Angus Grant, Alasdair Fraser and the late Dr Tom Anderson and was greatly inspired and influenced by their playing and teaching. She also enjoys composing and her tunes are played throughout the tradition. Louise is also a greatly sought after teacher, and as well as being a Strings Instructor in East Sutherland for HLH, she annually teacheson the Alasdair Fraser course at Sabhal Mor Ostaig, Skye and regularly teaches for Fèis Rois.In 2020 she was nominated as Tutor of the Year in the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards.

The Coffee Room is located on the groundfloor of the Dingwall Community Centre, on the right as you come in the front door.
There is ramp access to the front door.
There are two toilets: these can be found on the ground floor, on the left as you come in the front door.
