COME AND TRY 25th August 2026
This is a free taster session that will take place on Tuesday 25th August, 6.00pm – 6.45pm and is a chance to try the class before committing to the term. We have a limited number of wooden flutes available that you can use. If you’d like to come along to the Come & Try session, please email Marisa at marisa.astill-brown@feisrois.org, and mention whether or not you would need to borrow a flute.

Dougie Pincock
Dougie Pincock started his musical career as a Highland piper at primary school in Barrhead, near Glasgow, in 1970. In 1978 he joined the Glasgow folk group Kentigern, and began to learn whistle and flute on the Glasgow session scene.
He joined Battlefield Band in 1983 and played Highland and small pipes, whistle, flute, saxophone and percussion on three studio albums and one live one, and tours throughout Europe, North America and Australasia.
He left the band in 1990, and spent the 1990s teaching in various settings including many Fèisean, the newly opened Piping Centre, and the first degree course in Scottish music at the (then) R.S.A.M.D.
In 2000, he was appointed as the first Director of the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music at Plockton High School. He retired from that post in July 2023 and is now combining freelance performing, teaching and recording with being a Papa.

Robertson house is the Georgian building with the flat roof on Greenhill Street, beside the Free Church and along from the Corntown Garage. Please take care when driving into the carpark as you will have to drive over a lowered bollard.Parking is available in front of the building. There is one disabled parking space to the left of the building.
There are female and male toilets, and a disabled bathroom, all on the ground floor.
